The Startbahn format with choreographies by dancers of the Hessian State Ballett goes into the next round and builds the big season finale with its premieres Startbahn 2023 I on June 30 and Startbahn 2023 II in Darmstadt. As part of the Backstage Festival Blickwechsel, a total of nine short choreographies, divided over two evenings, will be shown. In addition to themes such as loneliness, autonomy, trust and love, the choreographers will question the artistic creative processes and the status quo of current contemporary dance on the backstage of Großes Haus. From classical-modern to spaced-out-chic, from light-playful to thoughtful-intense: a kaleidoscope of different styles, ideas and emotions.

On June 29, at 6:00 p.m., a T-Talk will take place at the foyer of Großes Haus, where two dancers of the Hessian State Ballet, Isidora Markovic and Tatsuki Takada, as well as Professor Thorsten Greiner from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, will give an insight into Startbahn 2023. Admission is free.
