Born in Ramla, Israel, in 1992, Nadav Zelner discovered his passion for dance and music at an early age. He completed his dance training with honours at the Thelma Yellin School of the Arts. His first engagement as a dancer took him to the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. Even during his training, Zelner showed an interest in choreographing and finding his own dance language. He initially created choreographies for musicals and choreographed productions such as The Threepenny Opera, Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan. His passion for cinematography led him to develop short dance films and accept his first commissions as a choreographer for film and television. For example, Zelner choreographed for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and became the lead choreographer for the Israeli TV show Lyp Sync Battle. Zelner initially presented his dance mini-dramas, which are already characterised by his unmistakable dance language, on the online platform YouTube. Gauthier Dance Stuttgart took over two of his film works in a specially adapted stage version and commissioned the new creation Bullshit in 2018. This was followed by works for the Batsheva Dance Company, the St. Gallen Theatre, Staatstheater
Augsburg, Introdans, Nederlands Dans Theater and Staatsballett Hannover.
