Hannah Shakti Bühler :
CHOREOMANIACS

Residency with Hannah Shatki Bühler as part of the Rhein-Main Dance Platform

Based on her research ‘dances between order and disorder’, Frankfurt-based choreographer and dance professor Hannah Shakti Bühler explores collective dance phenomena as a medium of liberation, ecstasy and disciplining the body in her new creation Choreomaniacs. We embark on a journey through time that recalls the dancing bodies of the medieval dance frenzy as well as the so-called “tarantate” from the southern Italian rituals of tarantism. The workshop becomes a celebration of spontaneity, a celebration of the uncensored physical expression of emotions and affects. A ritual between order and disorder, between obsession, humor, empowerment and resistance.

The workshop: Choreomaniacs – dances between order and disorder and a work in progress: Choreomaniacs with choreographer Hannah Shakti Bühler, who explores collective dance phenomena as an expression of liberation, ecstasy and discipline.

The guest performance Choreomaniacs will follow on March 12, 2025 at the Kammerspiele.

As part of this work in progress performance, you will have the opportunity to get an impression of Hannah Shakti Bühler’s new piece, which she is currently working on as part of her residency at Tanzplattform Rhein-Main, before the actual premiere.
