This training is an invitation to non-professional dancers to engage with their bodies and become aware of the different levels of physical possibilities. No dance training is required, just curiosity and a desire to move. The classes focus on tasks that Max has developed and researched for his various choreographic projects, working with minimalism and spontaneity, physicality and structure. First think, then move. Then think less and simply listen to the body. We work with everyday concepts and want to find out together how our bodies respond to each other!

In dance, everyone has the opportunity to act on the basis of different source materials and to react creatively to them. When we dance, we try to create a space in which hidden abilities of the body can be discovered without constraint. We work with influences from dance theater, contemporary dance, rituals and dance traditions. A special aspect is also the movement ‘off-balance’, which allows us to lose control for a short time. In addition to dance and music, the aim is to promote knowledge of one’s own body and to strengthen confidence in one’s own movement abilities.

In this course you will receive an introduction to classical ballet. In addition to the concepts and precise forms of this dance technique, the focus is on your individual body awareness. Your own physicality serves as a starting point to discover the classical forms in a personal and authentic way. The targeted body tension in ballet is supplemented by approaches from the release technique in order to experiment with different muscle tensions. This gives the body the opportunity to remain flexible and agile.
