Description

During our two-week residency, we will engage with the themes of origin, identity, and biography. With the chosen focus on the Italian dancer and choreographer Alessandra Corti, we aim to broaden the interest to include an intercultural, historical perspective on dance. Alessandra’s career encompasses a remarkable historical legacy in dance, reflecting her personality and identity as an artist and forming the core of biographical research.

Dance is a transient art form – valuable knowledge is inscribed within the bodies of dancers and cannot be exhibited like a painting in a museum. Therefore, remembering and documenting history within the discipline is essential and requires its own sensitive approach.

To gather material for our research, we will conduct interviews with individuals who have played a significant role in Alessandra’s artistic evolution. From these intimate dialogues, we will distill insights and perspectives to inform our creative process, crafting tasks and methodologies that blend movement and text into an evocative artistic narrative.
