Join in, move, discover – in the dance clubs of Hessisches Staatsballett!
In our dance clubs in Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, we invite everyone to get active. With or without dance experience—if you enjoy moving, are open to new things, and want to share experiences with others, you’re in the right place. Our dance clubs are designed for different age groups and are open to all—regardless of background, prior knowledge, or physical abilities. What counts is a passion for dance and community!
The dance clubs meet once a week throughout the season (excluding school holidays and public holidays). In addition, there is a joint workshop day. The highlight is a collective performance featuring all dance clubs—a celebration of bodies, creativity, and togetherness.
Participation is capped at a maximum of 25 people per club. Registration is therefore only possible via the form provided on our website. Please note: it is not a “first come, first served” process.
AfroFusion with Debby Mintah

In Afrofusion, Debby blends different African dance styles with elements of commercial dance – and always with plenty of vibe! Here you can feel free, let off steam, and at the same time discover African culture – no pressure, just lots of energy and fun! Come by and give it a try!

Flying Bodies
This dance club invites you to merge the flowing movements of contemporary dance with the dynamic energy of Capoeira, combining creativity, strength, and expression. The focus is on creative freedom and personal exploration, moving beyond rigid techniques to redefine what movement can be. The course fosters a sense of community where we learn, grow, and create together, deepening our understanding of ourselves and others through the shared experience of movement.
This course is open to everyone aged 18 and above, with no prior experience required, and offers a welcoming space for discovery.

How to move in between
How can we experience diversity in our dance space as enrichment – as a source of inspiration, exchange, and collective growth? Drawing on contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and the DanceAbility method, a vibrant dialogue of diversity emerges. Through dance improvisation and physical exchange, we explore different relationships between dancing bodies and discover how every experience, every form of expression, and every cultural influence finds its place in the shared process. These body-based techniques foster mindfulness, open new perspectives on movement, and create opportunities for encounters. The dance space thus becomes a place where movement is not only expression, but lived diversity and creative connection.
