Dietmar Janeck

Technischer Produktionsleiter

Dietmar Janeck is a stage and lighting designer, installation artist, photographer and videographer. His path to the theatre began with training as a stage dancer at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. He danced in various companies and productions in the Netherlands, was a member of the S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre Frankfurt for many years and concluded his dancing career with various productions of his own in 2001.

With his passion for photography and his theatre experience, since the 1990s he has increasingly developed stage designs and concepts alongside photo exhibitions, installations and projections, which are characterised by a homogeneous networking of his stage, lighting and projection design. The cornerstones of his stage designs are his affinity to space and its shaping through light and composition, trained by photography in symbiosis with his experiences as a dancer moving in the theatre space. In his works, he seeks a space in motion, in transformation, sometimes eruptive and then imperceptible. He is looking for a space with its own function as part of a whole, he wants to make offers without clear definitions, so that space can arise in the experience of the viewer and fill itself with its own imagination.
