Sofie Vervaecke, born in Belgium, began her professional dance training at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp and later completed her studies at the Princess Grace Academy in Monte Carlo. She started her professional career at the Staatstheater Nürnberg before joining the Staatsballett Hannover.
Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers such as Jirí Kylián, William Forsythe, Hofesh Shechter, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Marco Goecke, Sharon Eyal, Aszure Barton, and many more.
In 2022, she was awarded the Bavarian Arts Prize and was nominated by the dance magazine Dance Europe as Best Female Lead for her performance in Goyo Montero’s Le Sacre du Printemps.
Since the 2025/2026 season, she has been a member of the ensemble with the Hessisches Staatsballett.
