Mei-Yun Lu

Mei-Yun Lu was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and graduated from the dance department of the National Taiwan University of Arts in 2017. In Taiwan, she danced as part of the ten-year project series FreeSteps by Wei-Chia Su at the Horse Dance Theatre and in the choreography Seventeen Years of Cicada by Ming-Hwa Yeh. Lu also choreographed and took part in the Taiwan Choreography Competition 2015-2017. Her work Chain Effect won the selection, Wild was awarded the bronze medal, while Three received the title of “excellent work”. In 2015, she also danced at the American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina, as a performer in Slow Thaw by Wynn Fricke. From 2019 to 2022, she was a member of the dance company of the Konzert Theater St. Gallen in Switzerland and worked with Kinsun Chan, Nadav Zelner, Dimo Kirilov Milev, Ihsan Rustem and Giovanni Insaudo, among others. Lu has been a member of the Hessisches Staatsballett ensemble since the 2022/23 season.
