Daniela Castro Hechavarría

Daniela Castro was born in Havana into a family of dancers. She began her dance training at the age of seven at the Víctor Ullate Ballet School in Madrid. In 2005 she joined the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma, and in 2009 she decided to continue her studies at the Professional Dance School of Castilla y León (Burgos, Spain), where she graduated in June 2016. Parallel to her studies, Daniela worked as a dance teacher.

In September 2016, she joined the Eko Dance International Project, a junior company based in Turin (Italy), where she worked on international repertoires under the direction of Pompea Santoro, artistic director.

To deepen her knowledge, Daniela participated in several workshops, including the B12 Festival in Berlin, Share Intensive in Paris and during the International Dance Week in Budapest, where she worked on the repertoire of Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Sharon Eyal, Akram Khan and Emanuel Gat.

From January 2017 to August 2021 she was a permanent member of the dance ensemble of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern under the direction of James Sutherland.
