Loneflight-Theatre was founded in 2020 in Darmstadt (Hesse) by Brazilian performer and aerial artist Gabriela Schwab Veloso, after 20 years of professional experience. At this turning point in her career, she placed theatre in public spaces at the heart of her artistic vision.
The company blends acting, movement, and aerial arts to create a unique artistic language of its own.
Gabriela’s long-standing work as a clown also brings humor to the forefront, enabling the Loneflight-Theatre to establish a sincere and sensitive connection with its audience.
An artist who resembles a flyer—alone in the air, yet reliant on the support of many on the ground.
Gabriela Schwab Veloso is an aerial artist and actress, primarily active in the field of physical theatre. She completed her acting studies in 2001 at the University of São Paulo (USP) and holds a Master’s degree in Dance Studies from Freie Universität Berlin.
Since 2020, she has been the artistic director of Loneflight-Theatre, a company that merges acting with aerial performance to create a unique physical language.
Gabriela has performed in a range of projects, including Over My Dead Body by the contemporary circus company Maranasati, and the street circus-theatre project Just for Fun Express. Most recently, in the 2023/24 season, she appeared at Staatstheater Darmstadt as a flying vulture in Elektra.
