Danza Contemporánea de Cuba dedicates this workshop to Afro-Cuban dance traditions, with a particular focus on dances associated with the West African Yoruba religion. Dancer Adalies Duvergel explores with participants the movements, rhythms and forms of expression associated with the most important Yoruba deities, offering both theoretical and practical insights into this dance heritage — one of the cornerstones of Cuba’s folkloric stage dance tradition.
Participation from age 14, with previous dance experience
