São Paulo Dance Company
One evening, three perspectives on time, the body, and collective experience: With Gnawa, Umbó, and Agora, the São Paulo Dance Company under the direction of Inês Bogéa presents its artistic range and the powerful energy of its dancers.
In Gnawa (2009, choreography: Nacho Duato), earth, water, fire, and air merge into a choreography that celebrates gravity and grounding. With Umbó (2021, choreography: Leilane Teles) follows a work about inspiration and desire — about how role models resonate within the body and generate new movements. Finally, Agora (2019, choreography: Cassi Abranches) explores the theme of time: in rhythms, memories, temperatures, with pulsating movements that combine Afro-Brazilian percussion with rock and vocals.
A journey through three choreographic signatures that immerse the audience in different worlds of sound and movement. The São Paulo Dance Company demonstrates how tradition and the present, Brazilian impulses and international perspectives, merge within a vibrant body of dance — poetic, energetic, and captivating.
