Corps extrêmes

Rachid Ouramdane

In Corps extrêmes, dance, acrobatics, and extreme sports come together — becoming a radical inquiry into the body: as a repository of experiences, a projection surface for fear, courage, and risk, and as a site of self-determination and political confrontation.

Rachid Ouramdane brings together nine performers from the Compagnie de Chaillot with two outstanding athletes: climber Nina Caprez and highliner Nathan Paulin. Together, they engage physically and narratively with the longing for freedom — and with the risk it entails.

Between the intoxication of heights and the danger of falling, between trust and loss of control, a choreography unfolds full of tension, poetry, and existential force. Bodies fly, fall, and balance — telling of what shapes them: courage, failure, resistance.

Corps extrêmes is a visually powerful evening about being human at the edge of possibility — and a manifesto for self-determination, vulnerability, and the body’s unavailability in a world that often demands too much.
