“Corps de Walk” is a groundbreaking piece from the period before Israeli star choreographer Sharon Eyal’s international breakthrough. Premiered in 2011 as a commissioned work for the contemporary Norwegian dance company Carte Blanche, it explores the dangerous allure of the collective. Together with her partner and techno artist Gai Behar, as well as DJ Ori Lichtik, Eyal parodies the grand ensemble scenes of classical ballet with a choreography that seems to come straight from the dance floor of a futuristic techno club. Nearly 15 years after its premiere, “Corps de Walk” is being restaged by Hessisches Staatsballett.
