Against the backdrop of existential experiences such as the pandemic, a new war in Europe, and the omnipresent climate emergency, Astrid Boons deals in her new creation Interventions (AT) with
forms of social disembodiment. In doing so, she asks what effects the denial of lived bodily experience will have on us humans in a posthuman, technologically
technological future. With five performers, she tries to capture different possibilities of embodiment and at the same time show a way to ground ourselves in our humanity again.

Nach einer Tanzausbildung an der königlichen Balletschule in ihrer Heimatstadt Antwerpen setzte die Belgierin ihr Studium an der Codarts Hochschule in Rotterdam fort. Als Tänzerin arbeitete Boons u. a. bei der Dansgroep Amsterdam, dem Nederlands Dans Theater, der GöteborgsOperans Danskompani sowie als Gast beim Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Sie wirkte dabei in Kreationen u. a. von Ohad Naharin, Hans Van Manen und Marina Mascarell mit. Seit 2014 choreografiert sie ihre eigenen Stücke, für die sie u. a. mit dem renommierten BNG Bank Dansprijs 2017 und dem Piket Kunstprijs 2017 für ihr Duett Rhizoma
ausgezeichnet wurde. Seit 2017 ist sie Hauschoreografin am Korzo Theater in Den Haag, wo im Februar 2019 auch ihre erste abendfüllende Produktion Fields uraufgeführt wurde.
