About the piece

LAD QUEEN is a ghost caught between the many parts of a person. There are parts of him rooted to the earth that obey and connect, and there are parts that fly and scream, bending the laws of life. There are other parts too, which hide deep beneath the visible, they appear momentarily, as he passes through a wall, or goes back in time or becomes an altogether different being.

We meet him carrying these layers through dance and watch as he attempts an act of unravelling. The music guides his shifts through memory, emotion and sensation like the hand of a parent, and the stage light becomes moonlight that caresses this solitary, bounding figure in his search for release.
