LAST WORK – Ohad Naharin

Tonight, Ohad Naharin’s LAST WORK will premiere at Staatstheater Darmstadt. It is a very special honour for the Hessisches Staatsballett to bring the well-known piece to our stage – until now the piece was exclusively performed by Naharin’s own company, Batsheva Dance Company.

An aura of the ephemeral shimmers through the energetic, dense dance piece LAST WORK by choreography legend Ohad Naharin. A sense of clarity and reflection, as if in the centre of a hurricane. In LAST WORK, the Israeli choreographer presents a rather calm, thought-provoking world full of strong, physical presence. At the same time, a subdued calm is conveyed, carried by the electronic sounds of the German DJ Grischa Lichtenberger. After the highly acclaimed Sadeh21 in the 2018/19 season, Naharin now returns with this re-study of one of his creations for the Hessisches Staatsballett.
