Moonfall

In Moonfall, Dunja Jocić explores extreme situations. Against the backdrop of current socio-political crises, the Serbian-Dutch choreographer investigates the relationship between the individual and the collective in processes of upheaval and recovery. She is particularly interested in how people perceive and act when in a state of heightened alert. Jocić works with Michael Gordon’s Rewriting Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony Part 1 and Renger Koning’s The Whole’s Gone Missing. In the two-part structure of her choreography, she draws on the tense and at times chaos-inducing character of the music to embody the fragile yet unpredictable acts in the struggle between acceptance and resistance.
