\u201cThe Seasons\u201d<\/strong> by Malandain Ballet Biarritz<\/strong>, under the artistic direction of Thierry Malandain<\/strong>, musically combines the famous \u201cThe Four Seasons\u201d by Antonio Vivaldi with the lesser-known \u201cLe Quattro Stagioni dell\u2019anno\u201d (\u201cThe Four Seasons of the Year\u201d) by his contemporary and fellow countryman Giovanni Antonio Guido.<\/p>\n

Under the sign of the number four\u2014a symbol of creation, balance, and harmony\u2014the forms of Baroque dance (\u201cbelle danse\u201d) meet a more natural and human movement language. Between order and a life cycle thrown out of balance, a poetic fantasy unfolds: against a backdrop of black flower petals scattered to the horizon, winged beings mourn the loss of spirit and clarity.<\/p>\n
