Street- & Clubstyles Lab Special

For dance enthusiasts of all ages and levels who are interested in creative exchange through movement and new experiences!

Dance Workshop, Jams, Come Together!

Over these two days, the Street & Clubstyles Special will take place, offering a diverse program that will inspire both beginners and experienced dancers, featuring workshops, jams, exchanges, and shared experiences. The theater will serve as the central meeting point for interaction and exchange, where dance styles and personal stories come together.

Hip-hop, Afro Fusion, Locking, and House will be the focus on both days. Experienced instructors will share their knowledge in workshops and create space for individual exploration. Participants will have the opportunity to try something new, expand their skills, and gather fresh inspiration. The event will close with a jam session, where everyone can come together and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the event. This space is open for diversity and exchange in all its forms. Whether you’re a dancer or spectator, a beginner or a pro – you’re warmly invited to two days filled with dance culture!

Workshops

The meeting point for the 2-hour workshops is the foyer of the Kammerspiele at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, 15 minutes before the event begins.

Hip Hop with Samantha Alioto

Friday, February 28, 2025 – 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

This workshop consists of three parts: an introduction to Hip Hop culture and basics, freestyle, and choreography. The goal is for everyone to understand that Hip Hop is about finding your own style within the vast array of possibilities. The introduction to this culture will provide a brief overview of its origins and the styles it encompasses, so we can then focus on the basic and social steps, making the concept of freestyle clearer. The final part will include a short choreography that incorporates the basic steps.

Sam is a Hip Hop and Reggaeton dancer from Frankfurt with Italian/Peruvian roots. She has been dancing since the age of three and collaborates as a dancer with others in Frankfurt, Palermo, and Lima. In 2023, she co-founded the All-Styles Crew BlueMotion. She embodies Hip Hop culture not only as a dancer but as an artist with passion.

Afro Fusion with Debby

Saturday, March 1, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Debby’s style is called Afrofusion. The idea behind it is that there is not just one Afro dance style, but rather various styles from different African countries fused together. However, Debby’s style is also characterized by the incorporation of Female & Commercial elements. The goal in Debby’s classes is cultural exchange, creating a comfortable space and a place of respect, as well as having fun exploring the body and its (unexpected) abilities.

Deborah Mintah has been teaching Afrofusion in Darmstadt since October 2020 and has firmly established herself in the Darmstadt cultural scene. Her love for music is expressed not only through dance, but Debby also sings. However, she sees dance as a valuable tool for harmonizing with one’s own body and developing a confident relationship with it. Debby studied Political Science at TU Darmstadt and also works professionally as an educational consultant in political education. Her expertise focuses on discrimination in daycare centers and schools.

Hip Hop with Brooklyn

Saturday, March 1, 2025 – 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Brooklyn Odunsi Ifeacho is an experienced dancer and physiotherapist, and both perspectives provide a unique experience. With her main style, Hip-Hop, she teaches awareness of how each person can move individually and safely. Because: Everyone can move – the quality makes the difference!

Brooklyn Odunsi Ifeacho is from Munich and Frankfurt and is a versatile artist with over 10 years of experience in urban dance styles, particularly focusing on Hip-Hop. Her work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that combines her dance skills with her athletic side, shaped by years of experience in various sports. As a trained physiotherapist, she brings a deep understanding of body awareness and movement into her art. Today, she is fully dedicated to her passion as a full-time artist and is making new contributions to the dance scene.

Saturday, March 1, 2025 – 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

In this workshop, the Houseaholics will break everything down and share their unique approaches to Jacking through grooves, musicality, and the creative way they bring it to life. Our team includes Kevin and Born, DJs and dancers from New Jersey, who share a deep connection to House culture and style, as well as Nora, a dancer, DJ, and advocate from Frankfurt. Together, we represent the global heartbeat of House and are dedicated to inspiring connection, creativity, and community wherever we go.
