Stuttgart 1960 \u2013 als der Choreograph John Cranko mit dem Flugzeug landet, ahnt er nicht, dass dieser Moment sein Leben ver\u00e4ndern wird. Er soll am Stuttgarter Ballett als Gast choreographieren. In London, wo er aufgrund seiner Homosexualit\u00e4t zahlreiche Dem\u00fctigungen bis hin zu einem Arbeitsverbot ertragen musste, h\u00e4lt ihn nichts mehr. In der beschaulichen Stadt erholt sich John Cranko von den erniedrigenden Erfahrungen, niemand scheint sich an seinem unkonventionellen Lebensstil zu st\u00f6ren. Er wird nach kurzer Zeit Ballettdirektor, Liebling des Publikums, gibt sich seiner Kunst und einem berauschenden Lebensstil hin, hat Aff\u00e4ren, durchleidet private R\u00fcckschl\u00e4ge und tiefe Krisen, f\u00fchrt sein B\u00fcro in der Theater-Kantine und bezeichnet seine Compagnie als \u201aseine Kinder\u2018. Der rasante und steile Aufstieg bis zur Weltspitze, das \u201eStuttgarter Ballettwunder\u201c, machen John Cranko zu einem Superstar seiner Zeit. Angetrieben von der Besessenheit und Leidenschaft f\u00fcr seine Arbeit ist John Cranko immer auf der Suche nach Perfektion.<\/p>\n
