Die vielfach ausgezeichnete s\u00fcdafrikanische Choreografin Dada Masilo,<\/strong> bekannt f\u00fcr ihre kraftvollen Neuinterpretationen klassischer Werke wie \u201eSchwanensee\u201c, \u201eGiselle\u201c und \u201eLe Sacre du Printemps\u201c, hat Shakespeares Trag\u00f6die als einst\u00fcndiges Tanztheaterst\u00fcck neu gedacht. Aus der Perspektive der jungen Ophelia ist das Publikum eingeladen, den Ursachen ihres endg\u00fcltigen Verzweifelns nachzusp\u00fcren. Masilos Interpretation untersucht Misogynie und Manipulation und versucht, Ophelias Wahnsinn begreifbar zu machen. Mit Bez\u00fcgen zu klassischem Ballett, afrikanischem Tanz und historischen Tanzformen, basiert das Werk auf einer Originalkomposition von Thuthuka Sibisi sowie Musik von Ann Masina (Gesang), Leroy Mapholo (Violine) und Mpho Mothiba (Perkussion). \u201eHamlet\u201c feierte seine Premiere im Juli 2024 bei ImPulsTanz in Wien und wurde seitdem weltweit gezeigt. Kurz nach der Premiere verstarb Masilo \u00fcberraschend im Dezember 2024. Das St\u00fcck tourt im Rahmen der Internationalen Maifestspiele zum letzten Mal.<\/p>\n
